Generac Portable Generators recalled due to Fire and Burn Hazard
Issue
The recalled generators can fail to vent adequately from the rollover valve, causing the gas tank to build up excess pressure and expel fuel when opened, posing fire and burn hazards.
As of September 11, 2023 the company has received no reports of overheating and pressurizing or expelling fuel when opened and no reports of injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has 27 reports of overheating and pressurizing or expelling fuel when opened, including 3 incidents resulting in severe burn injures.
