Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit continue to investigate suspicious disappearance of Jesse Morrissey

The Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit continue to investigate the suspicious disappearance of Jessie Morrissey.

On February 13, 2022, Jessie was seen driving a dark coloured Jeep Patriot in the Springhill area. On February 14, he was reported missing by a family member. No one has seen or heard from Jessie since.

Over the last 1.5 years, the investigation has involved multiple days of ground and air searches with assistance from local Ground Search and Rescue Teams, RCMP Police Dog Services and Air Services; more than 200 interviews have been completed with assistance from the RCMP’s Interview Assistance Team; and judicial authorization have been obtained to collect further evidence.

On July 18, 2023, Jessie’s case was added to the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Reward for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the disappearance of Jessie.

The investigation is being led by the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit, with assistance from the Cumberland County District RCMP and Amherst Police Department.

RCMP investigators continue to believe that there are people who have information that may lead to finding out more about the circumstances of Jessie’s disappearance. We are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit at 902-896-5060.
