Police lay voyeurism charges

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man with six counts of voyeurism in relation to an investigation in Dartmouth yesterday.

On July 20, police received a report that a man had recorded five women and a female youth without their consent in the washroom facilities of the Abenaki Aquatic Club between July 18 and July 20.

Officers arrested the suspect at the scene and seized an electronic device from the man.

Matthew Douglas Moriarty, 41, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court today to face six counts of voyeurism.

We are not releasing further details out of respect and concern for the victims’ privacy and well-being.

Members from the Special Victims Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to investigate the case.
