Police investigate assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that occurred in Halifax in March and are releasing photos of the suspect.

On March 15 at approximately 1:50 p.m. a man assaulted an 11-year-old youth at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Lacewood Drive. The man was walking behind two youths as they entered the store. He pushed one of the youths, causing them to fall into the wall.

The suspect is described as a white man, 50 to 60 years old, heavyset with short grey hair, a short grey beard and mustache, wearing black metal frame glasses with orange lenses, a white GAP hooded sweatshirt, a grey Montreal Canadiens t-shirt, dark blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call police at 902-490-5016. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or using the P3 Tips App.
