Police lay drug trafficking charges

Police have charged three people with drug trafficking offences in relation to two searches that occurred in Halifax last week.

On June 15, members of the Drug Unit and Guns and Gangs Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, along with West Division patrol officers, conducted searches at two residences, one on Herring Cove Road and the other on Forbes Street, in relation to an ongoing investigation. Investigators arrested three people at the residences without incident and seized quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, opioids pills, prescription pills and cannabis and over $7,500.

Steven William Taylor, 26, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face 10 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Anjilique Marie Nicholson, 31, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Elizabeth Josephine Murphy, 59, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
