Blue Nose Marathon – Street closures, parking impacts, and transit disruptions
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect street closures, parking impacts and transit disruptions on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21 as a result of the Blue Nose Marathon.
A full list of street closures can be found on their website.. No vehicle traffic is permitted on the street during the closure time period for the Full Closures, while Halifax Regional Police will allow traffic to pass through areas with Rolling Closures when participants are not on the street.
Parking bans will also be in effect in several areas, with a full list available online.
To help reduce traffic and support marathon participants, Halifax Transit is pleased to offer free conventional bus and ferry service for those involved. Volunteers with credentials and participants with their run bib can ride free Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Every year, the Blue Nose Marathon brings out thousands of participants and spectators. Motorists are advised to drive carefully, to keep an eye out for people on the streets and to allow for extra travel time.
