Public Service Announcement
Road Construction – Larry Uteck Boulevard
Location: Larry Uteck Boulevard at the intersection of Brookline Drive (north) and Broad Street (north)
Dates: Tuesday, February 21 to Friday, April 21 Tuesday, April 11 to Monday, April 24
Time: Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is related to the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Larry Uteck Boulevard, Brookline Drive and Broad Street.
Driving impact: Road closure at Larry Uteck Boulevard, Brookline Drive and Broad Street (north) will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use detours set up on Bluewater Road and Broad Street. Roads will be open outside of working hours.
Transit Impact: Transit service through the project area will be unaffected. Route 433 operates outside of the active construction time.
Pedestrian impact: No pedestrian access through construction site during active construction time (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.). Pedestrian access will be provided outside of working hours (4 p.m. – 9 a. m.).
Cyclist impact: No cyclist access through construction site during active construction time (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.). Cycling access will be provided outside of working hours (4 p.m. – 9 a.m.).

Location: Portland Street at Old Ferry Road
Date: Wednesday, April 5 Thursday, April 6
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground work.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. The sidewalks will remain open at all times. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Robie Street
Location: Robie Street, between Stairs and Livingstone streets
Date: Thursday, April 6 (rain date: Tuesday, April 11)
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This road closure is related to underground utility work.
Traffic impact: Robie Street, between Stairs and Livingstone streets, will be closed while work is underway. A signed detour route will be in place. Local street access will be maintained, and the sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Portland Street
Location: Portland Street at Old Ferry Road
Date: Wednesday, April 5
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Traffic Delays – Ochterloney Street
Location: Ochterloney Street, between Alderney Drive and King Street
Date: Monday, April 3 to Wednesday, April 5
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground work.
Traffic impacts: One-way traffic will be maintained, and the north sidewalk on Ochterloney Street will be closed while work is underway. Signage will be in place to direct pedestrians around the work site. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Upcoming Road Closure – Jubilee Road
Location: Jubilee Road bridge, with the closure occurring between Bloomingdale Terrace and Fairfield Street
Date: Beginning mid-April 2023, with confirmed start date of closure to be announced in the coming weeks.
Time: 24/7 from mid-April through to approximately late October.
Work details: The road closure is necessary to complete rehabilitation, repairs, and safety improvements to the aging CN bridge on Jubilee Road. This work will include the rehabilitation of the arch bridge structure, as well as the full replacement of the paved surface, railing and the sidewalks, as well as water and sewer work by Halifax Water.
Traffic impact: The nature of the work requires that a small section of Jubilee Road be closed to all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. Detour signage will be in place for all users for the duration of the closure.
Local access, including to the St Mary’s Boat Club will be maintained from Quinpool Road via Prince Arthur Street.
The municipality and CN are collaborating to complete the required work in a safe and timely manner, while also minimizing the inconvenience for residents and commuters.

CONTINUING WORK

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice due to a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Apple River Bridge
Apple River Bridge, on Shulie Road between Advocate and Joggins, is closed until further notice due to structural damage.
Signs and a detour are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford/Lower Sackville
Highway 102, from Exit 4A to Exit 4C, has lane reductions and intermittent road closures on the northbound and southbound highway for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 Interchange.
Highway 102 northbound and southbound, Highway 101, Bedford Highway, Bedford Bypass, Duke Street, Glendale Avenue and Sackville Drive have intermittent road closures for blasting until June 30.
Traffic control will be on-site. Road closures for blasting occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Lane reductions occur from sunrise to sunset Monday to Thursday and from sunrise to noon on Friday.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 103, Timberlea
Highway 103 is reduced to one lane for westbound traffic until Thursday, April 6, for installation of 250 metres of guardrail near Half Mile Lake.
Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.
A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp is closed until September.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz
Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport
Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until further notice.
A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, Barneys River
The new Barneys River Interchange will be used to detour Highway 104 traffic until May 31, to prepare for the opening of the new highway.
Signs will direct drivers through the roundabouts. Approaching traffic must yield to traffic already in the roundabout.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.
