**** Via Halifax SAR
Halifax SAR members were out in the municipality last evening at the request of Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency EMERGENCY Management. We checked a number of sites for our unhoused neighbours.
We were also joined by #PartnersInPublicSafety Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia members in the areas that they patrol.
With the extreme cold weather expected in the municipality, we encourage you to check on your elderly or vulnerable neighbours. These checks could be lifesaving as the cold continues.
For the most up to date information, please dial 2-1-1 or visit ns.211.ca/seasonal for information related to the extreme cold weather event expected. They will be updating the website regularly. 211 Nova Scotia is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Halifax SAR members will be back out this evening to continue the checks and ensuring that individuals have access to the emergency shelters established by the Halifax Regional Municipality and the province.
