Update: Missing magazine and ammunition located

Halifax Regional Police are advising that the magazine containing ammunition reported missing over the weekend has been located.

On January 21, Halifax Regional Police​ informed the public that a police-issued firearm magazine containing ammunition had been lost. The magazine had been reported lost the night before after getting detached from​ an officer’s duty belt during the course of their duties.

Officers had been continuing to search for the magazine, and earlier this afternoon, it was located in an area where it was believed to have been lost.​

Police warn public regarding missing magazine and ammunition

Halifax Regional Police​ are reporting a lost police-issued firearm magazine containing ammunition. The magazine was reported lost last night after getting detached from an officer’s duty belt during the course of their duties.

HRP officers have been conducting a search for the missing magazine. Police remind members of the public that possession of police-issued equipment by the public is prohibited by law. Additionally, Nova Scotia’s Police Identity Management Act carries penalties for unlawful possession of police articles.​
