Homicide victim identified

The victim of the homicide from the incidents of May 24 in Kings and Hants Counties has been identified as 51-year-old Robert Michael Campbell of Falmouth. The homicide is one of two serious incidents that occurred on May 24, within two hours of one another in Kings and Hants Counties.

During the early morning hours on May 24, two residents fled their home in Wolfville after their home was entered. Police found evidence of an injury at the scene, however the residents of the home were not hurt. The attack is not believed to be random. A short time after 7 a.m. a vehicle fire was reported to police in St. Croix. The vehicle involved was a grey van and police found human remains inside.

The investigation is ongoing. The MCU is being assisted by members of RCMP Forensic Identification Services, Special Tactical Operations, Underwater Recovery Team, and Nova Scotia RCMP’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft Services.
