The following news release in relation to a additional charges being laid against Christopher Brian Godfrey, 44, related to a sexual assault investigation in Alberta is being shared on behalf of the Bonnyville RCMP. Godfrey previously lived in Nova Scotia.

The Nova Scotia RCMP is reaching out to the public to offer support and encourage anyone who may have been a victim to come forward by contacting your local police or RCMP Detachment. Police want victims to know that they can contact them and discuss an incident before making a decision to further participate in the investigation and court process. Bonnyville RCMP conclude 10 month long sexual assault investigation with charges and seeking public assistance –Update: more charges laid

Bonnyville, Alta. – On Jan. 25, 2022 Bonnyville RCMP laid additional charges against Christopher Brian Godfrey (44) of Bonnyville. Charges have been laid resulting from investigations of allegations by additional victims.

Godfrey is further charged with:

  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Fraud
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Extortion
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Criminal Harassment (x2)

On Jan. 26, 2022 Godfrey appeared at Provincial Court where, following a judicial hearing, he was released with additional conditions. Godfrey is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Feb. 22, 2022.

Due to a publication ban no additional information can be released.
