Antigonish RCMP is investigating stolen electrical equipment from a Nova Scotia Power truck

On December 28 at approximately 6 p.m., police responded to a complaint of a mischief near Afton. Police learned that the power was out in the area and it was believed that it had been disrupted on purpose. Nova Scotia Power employees attended and restored the power.

Police were advised that a telescopic Hastings Pole, also know as a “hot stick”, had been stolen from one of the Nova Scotia Power trucks sometime between December 25 and 27 in the area and they believe it was used to disrupt the power. Police were advised that a similar incident had occurred the night before. The pole is described as yellow, 6-feet long and extends out to 40-feet with a metal hook on the end

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Antigonish RCMP at 902-863-6500.
