Man wanted on province-wide warrant for offences related to domestic violence

West Hants District RCMP has obtained an arrest warrant for a man wanted for offences related to domestic violence from an incident on November 16, 2021 in Vaughan.

On November 16 at approximately 8:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a man sending threatening text messages and emails to his ex-girlfriend. The man was also threatening harm to the victim’s current boyfriend. The following day at approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to a report of the victim’s vehicle being set on fire.

Through the course of the investigation, police determined that the fire had been intentionally set by the man who had threatened the victim and her boyfriend. Police began a search for the man which took them to a wooded area on Hwy. 14. RCMP Air Services and RCMP Police Dog Services assisted in the search for the man, and West Hants District RCMP members entered the woods on All Terrain Vehicles. Police were unsuccessful in locating the man and he is no longer believed to be in that area.

On November 18, as a result of this incident, police obtained a province-wide arrest warrant for the man.

Aaron John Kehoe, 44, of Windsor, is charged with arson and uttering threats (2 counts).

Police continue to make attempts to locate Kehoe, however are requesting assistance from the public.
