Today was the official reveal and launch of the new 2022 Halifax Professional Firefighters (HPFF)  “Firefighters and their Dogs” calendar, in support of firefighter and first responder mental health initiatives.

100% of all calendar sales goes directly towards the programs of Fight4Life.

Fight4Life Halifax is a charity that was established in memory of fallen firefighter Kyle Currie, a Halifax Regional & Emergency firefighter who died in 2018 due to complications from PTSD. This charity was formed by Kyle’s family, co-workers, and friends who witnessed, first-hand, the devastating effects that PTSD can have on first responders and their loved ones.

Fight4Life is raising awareness and support with this calendar to provide a path of hope for firefighters struggling with PTSD, as well as engaging in pro-active education for active-duty and retired HPFF members of IAFF Local 268.

The 2022 Calendar is heartfully dedicated to Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Therapy Dog, “Newt,” who passed in July 2021 after 9.5 years of dutiful service. Newt, who was featured in the 2021 calendar, was a Bernese Mountain dog. He provided comfort to countless firefighters and their families.
