Stunting driver charged: 58 km/h over the posted speed limit
On April 16 at 3:30 p.m., a member of the RCMP’s South East Traffic Services in Halifax observed a blue Volkswagen Passat travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was northbound on Hwy. 102 in Fall River. The police officer used RADAR to check the speed, which was 168 km/hr in a posted 110 km/hr zone.
The RCMP have charged the 30-year-old male driver with Stunting under the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act. The vehicle was seized and impounded. The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50.
The RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
