NSP COVID-19 RESPONSE

The Covid Chronicle

**** NSP Release

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, one thing that won’t change is our commitment to providing you with safe, reliable and affordable electricity.

There is nothing more important than the health and safety of our customers, employees and the communities in which we operate so, while our core business continues, we’ve activated the following measures as part of our pandemic contingency plan:

What We’re Doing What This Means to You
  • Restricting the public from all Nova Scotia Power sites starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
  • We’re temporarily suspending non-essential in-home and in-business services. Services like outdoor meter-reading and service connects and disconnects will continue.
  • We’ll continue to serve customers and provide customer support by phone and online.
  • As always, our online tools are available here, nspower.ca, to help you manage your account and save energy and money.
  • Providing options to our customers who may be struggling to pay their bill.
  • If at any time you are struggling to pay your bill, you can contact our customer care centre at 1-800-428-6230.
  • We understand that customers who are unable to work because of self-isolation, illness or other pandemic consequences impacting their finances may struggle to pay their bill. Call us to discuss your options so we can help you keep your account in good standing.
  • Asking employees who can work from home to do so, and providing guidelines for employees who must continue to report to our work-sites, including:
  • Requesting all employees with flu-like symptoms to remain at home.
  • Increasing our cleaning and disinfecting regimens throughout our facilities.
  • Implementing social distancing practices
  • Requiring all employees to cease non-essential business travel and monitoring any personal travel plans, imposing a 14-day self isolation following travel outside of Canada.
  • With our pandemic and business contingency plans in place, we will continue to provide Nova Scotians with safe, reliable and affordable electricity. Every day.
