Rainfall warning in effect 

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Total rainfall: 40 to 60 mm. Potentially higher in areas of heaviest rain.

Locations: most of mainland Nova Scotia.

Time span: late tonight into Sunday morning.

Remarks: Rainfall rates are expected to be heaviest for the Annapolis Valley through to northern Nova Scotia Saturday and for the Atlantic coast Saturday night. Should thunderstorms develop rainfall rates could approach 25 mm/hour.

Similar storms in the past have caused hazardous driving conditions and localized flooding, especially in poor drainage areas,

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
