NSHA advising potential COVID-19 exposure at Halifax Regional Municipality community centre​ ​
NSHA Public Health is advising of a potential public exposure to COVID-19 on March 14 at Lake Echo Community Centre (3168A Highway #7, Lake Echo).​
The gathering was a public event related to St. Patrick’s Day with approximately 50 people in attendance. Public Health has been directly contacting attendees to advise on self-isolation protocols and next steps.​
While most people have been contacted, there could be some attendees Public Health is not aware of or contact information may have changed for individuals.​
It is anticipated anyone exposed to the virus at this March 14 event may develop symptoms up to, and including, March 28, 2020.
COVID-19 symptoms include:
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Pneumonia
If you have COVID-19 symptoms:
  • Take the COVID-19 online self-assessment questionnaire to determine if you need to call 811.​
  • If needed, call 811 for assessment. Please self-isolate until you receive 811 advice on next steps.
  • Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so by 811.
All Nova Scotians are advised to continue monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms and are urged to follow Public Health guidelines on how to access care. Up to date information about COVID-19 is available at novascotia.ca/coronavirus
