Tensions ran high at a “March to Unmask” protest that took place in Halifax.

A pro mask group joined the scene, and almost immediately arguments began, some loudly, about mask wearing in the age of COVID-19.

The organizers posted this on social media as part of their cause.

“Just recently The City of Toronto passed a law to make masks mandatory in indoor spaces and other jurisdictions have followed suit or are considering doing so. We will not allow this to become the new normal in our communities as prolonged unnecessary use of masks can be harmful to your health and most masks offer you no protection. We are committed to educating the public with credible facts and influence public perception when it comes to mask use.”

Currently, the NS government has not made masks mandatory fully in the province. However some places such as the airport, riding transit or shuttles and taxis, the IWK and LTC homes, or individual businesses require maks. More info:
